Kindness Resolution

Have you ever made a new year’s resolution? If you have, have you thought of making a kindness resolution?

Here are some examples:
1. You can play with a kid who is alone.
2. You can save money to give to a charity.
3. You can recycle more.
4. You can turn off the lights to save electricity.
5. You can give someone a compliment.

For 2025 consider making your resolution a kindness revolution.

Holiday Kindness

During the month of December the Christmas and Hanukkah season people can get really excited about their gifts they get on Christmas day and the gifts they get during the 8 days of Hanukkah  they never realize how some people don’t have enough money to buy their family presents.

Here are some ways to be kind during the holidays.
1. You can donate to a charity that helps families buy presents.
2. If your school does something where you can “adopt” a family and buy them gifts because they don’t have enough money, you can sign up.
3. You can buy and donate toys and clothes to a charity.

During the holidays it’s to think of other people.

Inclusion Matters

Inclusion matters because some kids get left out every single day. How would you feel if you went out to recess everyday and no one wanted to play with you and you played all alone every single day? Would it make you sad, mad, disappointed or happy?

Inclusion helps people with disabilities not be alone and have lots of friends. Inclusion helps nondisabled people be more kind, caring and loving. If I didn’t have a brother with a disability I don’t think I would be so kind, caring or loving.

Here are 3 ways to include people:

  1. If you see someone playing alone ask them if they want to play.
  2. If your teacher tells your class to make groups of 5 and you only have four kids you can look around to see if anyone is looking for a group but no ones including them and invite them to join.
  3. If your school is doing a talent show and someone wants to do something with other kids but no one will do it with them, ask them if they want to do it with you (if you’re comfortable with it).

And that is why inclusion is so important.

Welcome to Kensi’s Kindness Corner! I’m excited to start this blog and share my ideas about kindness, inclusion, and more.

I created my new logo with two hands and a heart; it symbolizes how kindness makes me feel.

This year, I plan to write and make videos about holiday kindness activities, how to be kind to the environment, kindness to animals, disability awareness, and more.

I’m so excited to have you join me on this adventure through KINDNESS!
